Poland as a country with multicultural, multinational and multidenominational history

Next to Roman Catholics, people of other Christian denominations (Protestant, Orthodox, Old Catholic etc.) as well as other religions (Jews, Muslims) also live in Poland. Presenting their heritage is an indication of constitutional equality of all Churches and freedom of religion, it teaches tolerance and open-mindedness and contributes towards a peaceful and friendly coexistence. It is thus acting towards the development of democracy in Poland measured by the attitude towards national, ethnical, religious and other minorities.

Presenting this image of Poland breaks religious and national stereotypes and contributes to building a positive perception of our country abroad.

During the Polish Presidency in the European Union the member Churches of the Polish Ecumenical Council undertake numerous activities (exhibitions, symposia, publishing, educational projects) showing Poland as a country with a multicultural, multinational and multidenominational history.
